“YThe River Kwia Resotel was a special trip for us it is a exceptional place to visit and stay, the staff goes well above and beyond to provide their guests only the best service. Yesterday we visited. the bridge on the River Kwai, the cemetary and museum, it is sad to see how cruel and inhumane man can be to their fellow man.

Today we took the jungle tour and visited a village and school, my wife is a teacher here and it is always a special treat for us to see the children.

I would recommend this trip ”

“My husband and I visited as part of a three day trip. We were met by the hotel guide Bobo who was very welcoming and very knowledgeable of the local area. We were lucky as was given a newly refurbished room. All rooms are individual style cottages with king sized beds, a.c., massive style bathrooms. The staff were excellent and the place was relaxing. Bobo thank you you made our holiday ”

“Lost in the jungle in a really remote area, a great place if you want to be away of busy town and get closed to nature. I booked a package and enjoyed 3 days with different visits. Loves the cave, the local village, the boat trips on the river and the historical visits. The hotel guide Bobo is really lovely and helpful and I felt like I lived something special and really learnt about the local places and people. Rooms are OK, don’t expect a modern confort as they are already luxury for a place far away from everything. I might have enjoyed another day in the place to chill at the pool and do nothing in a such quiet location. Food was great, breakfast buffet OK. Would really recommend to see something new and not too touristic/crowded (yet).”

“We booked a “3 Days 2 Nights”-Tour to river Kwai and stayed in River Kwai Resotel.
We were picked up in Bangkok and our guide Um showed us Kanchanaburi (bridge and museum) and brought us to the pier where we met our tourguide for the next days. This was Bobo and he was the best tourguide ever: very good english-speaking, attentively, answering all silly questions and always in a good mood. The meals in the restaurant were great.
I can only recommend!

“We were here for 2 nights, and the place is just amazig in the middle of the jungle. We were brought in by boat…and found ourselves amidst the junlge in a resort with very nice cottages and a really nice pool. Despite te fact we got bad luck with the weater, we really enjoyed our stay a lot. The staff is among the friendliest and most helpfull staff I have met already on my travels. I asked my (now fiancée) to marry me overthere and even though not included, the staff went all out to make it a perfect night, with a specially set table. They even asked the guy who provides the music entertainment in the evening to start singing a romantic song as soon as our pates were cleared from the table. An amazing night it became. One thing though: it’s a calm and restfull place and after 10 PM it’s nearly dead, so if you’re a party animal, this might not be for you”

“We had a brilliant time here. Bobo our guide was magnificent; helpful, friendly informative and attentive. The food was very very good; if you wanted spice you got it, if not it was as mild as you requested. The location was fantastic on the river, with all tours to and from by long tail boat. Do yourself a favour and book in”

“Loved the location, what started already with the fact you can only reach it by boat!! Staff is very friendly and polite! Good service level. The sight seeing possibilities are great: hellfire pass, death railway, erawan waterfalls etc. All within one hour distance.”

“This visit was organised by our old English friends living in Bangkok, working in the travel industry, so we did what they recommended! And it was very worthwhile. We’d already been up to Chiangmai Mai and down to the seaside resort on Phi Phi years ago, so this 3 night trip fitted into our current plans (short stop over on the way to visit more old friends in Perth) on top of a few nights in Bangkok, very well!
To get there, we were collected by mini-coach in Central Balgkok, close to our friends home, then transferred to a single decker coach for the four hour journey westwards. Our guide showed off local attractions on the way and soon we were on the river Kwai on a rocket propelled narrow boat upstream to the ‘Bridge’ made famous in the film. Exciting!
So much was included, but eventually we moored up beside the pontoon and the gate way to the Restotel, at last! It was a beautiful jungle location beside the river up above the cliff, with gardens, palm trees, and huts where we were to be accommodated. After settling in we were invited to go to the main building, to its first floor terrace, for a welcoming meal – delicious platefuls of Thai food!
And so it went on each day, a river trip and a local village, a day trip to a Hellfire Pass and the memorial gardens commemorating the dead from the Death Railway, a day off and on our way back, a trip on the railway itself.
We stayed an extra night, as we’d miscalculated the time we had before our midnight flight on to Perth, and they dropped us off at the airport too. Well organised and really good value. Lifelong memories probably! ”

“We stayed for 4 nights. The location within the jungle by the river is dramatic, and the continuing developments around the gardens make this a fascinating place to stay. On top of that, the staff are consistently friendly and attentive.”

“A good place to stay in Kanchanabury. A vast and beautiful property. A green area with trees, bushes, grass and many watering places. A lot of paths allow having a walk to enjoy nature.”
River Kwai Resotel Resort is situated in a peaceful and relaxing area but allows to do a lot of activities.
You can even enjoy your free time swimming or sipping a drink near the swimming pool !”

“We loved the resort for its location and character. You feel like you are in the jungle, the arrival is by a 10 minute boat ride. We were there for two nights, perfect. We had activities planned, but their staff is very helpful. We did ride bikes to the Lawa caves, fun but a little scary that we could get lost in there. The Mon dance show was entertaining, loved the stone showers. The rooms are rustic but charming.”

“Thinking about sitting on the deck of the restaurant on a hot night with cold beer, good friends and all of the sounds of the jungle in full symphony. This is a true jungle resort experience with quaint and comfortable bungalows with the right amount of rustic. I loved the separate shower room with stone floors and walls. The pool area is surrounded by lush jungle landscape making it very relaxing. The service was very good and is operated by locals and are a little more reserved than in the big city. We used the laundry service and it was reasonably priced and well done. We preferred ordering a la cart from the menu and in that way the food was excellent. All around a magical jungle experience.”

“My girl and I came to Thailand to visit some of our Thai friends and they brought us to The Resotel. We actually are beach lovers but this trip changed our views. It’s one of our best experiences. We accessed the resort by a long-tailed boat which took around 10 minutes. The time went fast as the lush tropical jungle on the sides of the river got our attentions. While we were walking up hills for check-in we felt like walking among jungle paradise. Lots of huge trees which seem to be there for decades. The landscape is totally impressive. Our Thai friends said the Resotel has got the best location in this area and we couldn’t agree more. The room is like a hut which truly harmonises with tropical surrounding. Lots of activities we could do here; swimming, canoeing, river jumping, mountain biking, trekking, caving, Mon traditional dancing, relaxing massage etc. It was hot and humid but our excitement overcame the weather challenge. The service is about ordinary but what to expect. We didn’t expect five-star service available in the middle of green nature anyway. Big thanks for our friends to show us such an experience. We really had a lovely time. We definitely recommend the Resotel to our friends back home.”
