How to get to Kanchanaburi From Bangkok (specially during flooding situation)
Although the flood is almost gone in most part, a couple of routes are still slightly affected. Unfortunately one of those is our route to Kanchanaburi. However, there is another good route that we recommended use during this short period. Please see direction below;
From Bangkok, you can use express way to get to Chaloem Maha Nakorn Express way (Toll Road) and get off at Thonburi-Pak Thor (Rama II Road) and then keep driving along Rama II Road (Highway No.35) until you see the post sign indicating way to Samut Songkram (Ampawa Route) (Highway No.325).
Then, drive along Highway No.325, passing Ampawa District of Samut Songkram, Damnoen Saduak District of Ratchaburi Province and Bang Phae District until you see Highway No.4 (Phet Kasem).
Then, turn right and drive along Highway No.4 until you see Highway No.3525. Then, turn left along Highway No.3525 and this highway will lead you to Highway No.323.
Then, turn left along Highway No.323 to pass Ban Pong District of Ratchaburi Province, Tha Rua, Tha Maka District, Tha Muang District and Muang District (downtown) of Kanchanaburi and this highway can lead you to our hotels in Saiyoke District of Kanchanaburi Province.
(Depart From Bangkok :180 Kilometres West)
Go to Bangkok Noi Railway Station (in Thai: "Sa Tha Nee Rot Fai Bangkok Noi") and take the Nam Tok bound train to Kanchanaburi. To get to Bangkok Noi Railway Station by Chao Phraya River Ferries, as you get on to the ferry ask to go to "Tha Rot Fai", which means "Railway Station Pier". The fare is THB28 (3rd class - non-air conditioned). Trains depart Bangkok Noi Railway Station daily at 07:45 am, arriving in Nam Tok Railway Station at 12:50 pm, and 01:50 pm, arriving 18:40. Alight at Namtok Railway Station rent a local mini bus to get to RESOTEL pier (10 K.M. far from the station - on left hand side of the 323 road). Then catch a long-tailed boat from RESOTEL pier to River Kwai RESOTEL.
